Here in the US we pay less than the Australians or Europeans. In those countries taxes are actually higher than the raw cost of the fuel. I can see why European governments do not want their people to drive, high population densities and small land surface. In the case of Australians I do not understand it. A country as lasge as the US with only 20M people. There is plenty of room. Must be liberalism at its best and its intense desire to share. They even have a national bicycle helmet law. Even that freedom is gone.
